A Community Driven Plan

The Town of Rochester Community Preservation Fund is guided by the Community Preservation Plan (CPP) that outlines how any funds can be used. This CPP was adopted by the Town of Rochester Town Board earlier this year.

The CPP is a comprehensive document that builds upon decades of smart planning in the Town of Rochester. Many town documents were referenced in this document including the town’s Comprehensive Plan, Water studies, Natural Heritage Plan and Historic Resource Studies. The CPP used an objective, data-based process to identify and protect valuable resources.

Conservation of these essential resources ensures today’s residents — and future generations — continue to benefit from clean water, local food, and resilient landscapes. Conservation of these resources is also key to addressing the challenges of climate change.

Participation is completely voluntary. Landowners choose whether to participate or not. Eminent domain is not allowed.
